Lets live healthy

There is a difference in  “Living  a Life” and “Living a Healthy Life “.

Let me share with you what I learnt in the last few years to lead a healthy life:

1. A healthy and balanced diet.

2. Exercise.

3. Rest.

4. Peace of Mind

Actually exercise and rest are equally important, but the most important is a balanced diet with peace of mind.

1. A balanced and healthy diet.

The average person uses/spends around 1800 to 2000 calories per day. In order to lose weight you simply need to take in LESS than you spend. So consume less than 1800 calories in 24 hrs. But the ‘less’ calories you intake needs to be divided into fat, carbohydrates, and protein, and that’s where the word BALANCE comes in. A balanced diet is generally 1/3 fat, 1/3 Carbohydrates and 1/3 protein.Take fruits, vegetable salad, honey, less oily and boiled food. Taking chavan prash is another good option. Some protein or nutritive supplement under guidance is also a good.

Finally remember
“Eat to Live and not Live to eat” always eat for energy and nutrition of course with taste and enjoyment, but never eat in depression, for time pass, to escape tension or loneliness. When eating try to be calm and silent, do not eat while fighting with spouse or sibling on dinner table or watching an exiting news of rape/accident. My Grand Ma inspired me to remain silent while taking meal, so talk before or after meal and try to avoid eating in front of TV.

2. Exercise.

This would depend on what you want to achieve. I mean general fitness, reducing your tummy and extra fats, or want to do body building. For general fitness walking, jogging, swimming, or playing a sport, are all great exercise. I personally believe dancing is the best exercise, since it gives joy, happiness, coordination and gives a lot of flexibility in a playful funny way. Yoga is great too. Karina maintains his figure only by doing 100 “surya pranams” every day.

Ideally what i would like to do as exercise(30 to 45 minute) is as below:

1. 12 Survya namaskar with beej mantra (suryanamaskar tutorial link with breathing pattern)
2. 500 non stop skipping
3. 5 minute dancing with different moods and beats
4. 25 push ups and chinups.
5. 20 abb cruches
6. Shav Assan and 3 to 5 min meditation.

3. Rest.

The importance of rest is often underestimated. No matter how hard you train, if you don’t rest your body, it will not respond as well. Lot of muscles breaks up during workout, if rest it not given instead of developing they will become weak. Proper rest is as important as exercise.

4. Peace of Mind

Body is controlled by emotions and though in mind. Under tension or by being restless it is difficult to maintain a healthy body. Always try to balance life-work balance with finance-peace equation. Doing Meditation and yoga, prayers, reading good books and doing activity you love (hobby) helps to maintain peace of mind.

Use cycle for short distance, it will benefit your body and also environment. Do exercise and take meals same time every day. Surya pranam is combination of all the asans, so only doing that on regular basis will give you perfect health & I can gurantee that. Lets try some of these ideas, and comment back if find them useful.
